How are Google rankings tracked?

Google's search engine results page (SERP) rankings are tracked in accordance with the Targeted Country and Targeted Engine specified for the campaign during setup. The targeted country decides the geographic location from which the SERP rankings are searched. According to the country specified, an IP address from that location will be used to gather rankings information. The targeted engine specifies which Google engine is used to perform the search. Targeted country and targeted engine are used together when gathering rankings information. Additionally, when rankings are tracked in Linkr™, the Google feature Personalized Web Search is disabled by setting it to zero. This way the search results are not influenced by previous history.
